If you are already considering electric, it's likely you already know the biggest difference between the three Niro models. Just in case you’re not, let's get you on the same page. The Niro is available as an EV (Electric Vehicle), HEV (Hybrid) and PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid). So what's the difference?

EV:An EV runs solely off electricity which is stored in a large lithium battery inside the car's engine. It is charged via the regenerative braking* capabilities as well as an external plug-in port. The EV Niro is highly advanced, it can travel up to 455km on a whisper-quiet magnet synchronous motor. The Niro charges rapidly and has a fantastic performance of 150kWh of power and 395 Nm of torque.HEV: A HEV or hybrid, runs on both electricity and petrol, essentially, it’s the best of both worlds. The lithium battery autonomously charges, no manual requirements, drastically reducing the amount of petrol you burn through. Versatile and energy efficient, this dual power engine has a lot to offer.PHEV:A PHEV is similar to a hybrid, what differs is that the battery requires an external cable that plugs into a specialised electric port. The Niro uses a 1.6 GDI petrol engine that works alongside the electric motor to deliver optimum power. As with the EV model, this option relies on the infrastructure of your local area and whether there are ports available for public use. Alternatively, a personal charging station can be installed at your home.

* Regenerative braking helps to convert the kinetic energy when decelerating and braking into electrical energy to recharge the battery for even greater energy efficiency. No plugs necessary.

All variants of the Niro are packed with high level tech features that elevate and offer exceptional comfort during your daily drive. Just some of those features include:

Large 10.25" HD touch screenJBL® Premium Sound SystemSmart Key with Push Button StartRear air ventsSpacious cargo area with flat folding seats.Mood dimming lightingDual climate controlAdvanced Phone Connectivity

The three vehicles are equally matched in terms of safety features, installed with all the most sophisticated KIA technology.
